Following her debut on dt weapons with ‘99’, Jill Stanley makes her return to the label with ‘Wanna Touch’, a bold new club cut that pushes her sound further into the space between techno and tech house. Building on the foundations laid with ‘99’, Jill comes back with a track designed firmly with the dancefloor in mind. ‘Wanna Touch’ is driven by a relentless low-end groove, crisp percussion and a seductive vocal hook that gives the record its playful edge. There’s an immediate sense of movement from the opening bars. The rhythm stays tight and direct, with the bassline doing much of the heavy lifting underneath sharp drums and carefully placed vocal touches. Rather than overcrowding the production, Jill leaves plenty of space for each element to land, allowing the groove to remain front and centre. As ‘Wanna Touch’ develops, the arrangement plays with tension and release. Stripped-back
